Gufo Pixel: Retro Pixel Font (4 styles, full Latin)

Gufo Pixel is a pixel font that speaks every European language.

Most free pixel fonts stop at A–Z. Gufo Pixel covers 347 characters: all of Latin-1 and Latin Extended-A, so Italian perché/città, French ç/œ, Spanish ñ/¿¡, German ß/ü, Polish ł/ż, Czech ř/ů, Turkish ğ/ı, Romanian ș/ț and more render correctly in your HUDs, menus and dialogue boxes.

4 styles

• Gufo Pixel Regular: proportional, great for dialogue
• Gufo Pixel Bold: heavier, for titles and buttons
• Gufo Pixel Mono: fixed 6 px cell, for scores, timers and tables
• Gufo Pixel Mono Bold: fixed 7 px cell, for big HUD numbers, counters and headings in tables

Pixel-perfect metrics

1 em = 10 px → use sizes 10, 20, 30, 40 px… for crisp pixels. Cap height 7 px, x-height 5 px. Engine tips are in the README (Godot, Unity TextMeshPro, CSS).

How it was made

Every glyph is an explicit 5×7 pixel grid written as text data, then compiled to TrueType/OpenType with the open-source fontTools library. The grids and the build scripts were written with the help of an AI assistant (see the AI disclosure). No image-generation model and no existing font were used.
